The WA3EPT station, the station of the Johns Hopkins University Amateur
Radio Club, is available to any licensed amateurs who are JHU students.
We currently have the following equipment in the "Ham Shack" in the ROTC
Building for use:
- A 20 Meter station, complete with rotating antenna, 2000 watt amplifier
antenna tuner, etc.
- A 10 Meter rig that needs repair.
- A whole bunch of old military and crystal radios (10 & 2 meter) that
need power supplies.
- Lots of cable!
- Books on how to get your Novice, Tech & General license.
- Teach yourself Morse Code tapes.
- Amateur Radio Satellite books & software.
We are also working on acquiring new equipment, but need members so we
can petition the SAC for money! Our wish list includes:
- Simplex Autopatcher for local & on campus calling.
- Packet Radio to Internet Gateway (see projects)
for remote, wireless Internet & e-mail access.
- New antennae.
- More members!
